This kitchen tear down for a repeat client involved removing a wall and completely re-imagining the space from the owners’ eclectic, boho-modern point of view. We used a mix of colors, textures, and unique materials to add depth and warmth to the space while creating ample room for storage and entertaining. Home remodel upgrades included handmade Pratt & Larson tile, brass fixtures, quartz countertops, luxury vinyl plank, new baseboards throughout, and reimagined closet spaces to maximize storage.
This custom Tualatin home had great features, but an awkward and inefficient kitchen layout. We reconfigured the pantry by removing walls and installing new 8’ double doors to maximize space, then replaced carpet and tile with new stained hardwood flooring to match existing white oak flooring throughout the main floor. Additionally, we widened the doorway into the kitchen to maximize flow and finished bare walls with matching wainscoting. The new quartz countertops and tile backsplash complete this update and bring freshness to the existing cabinetry.
The new owners of this beautiful SW Portland home desired a more modern aesthetic throughout, including new countertops, new custom Waterworks tile backsplash (where every tile was handmade), new fixtures and lighting, new hardwood flooring (even to the stairs), bathroom updates, and a pass through wall to let in additional light. The finished product now makes the home feel warm and inviting, just like the owners!
This classic North Portland home needed a light and bright refresh. We removed existing brick backsplash and cabinetry and installed long, modern shelves for decorative storage. Together with a widened doorway, this kitchen’s clean lines are now ready for proper entertaining.
This Wilsonville family needed a designated spot for kid jackets and backpacks prior to the start of the school year. We matched the existing wainscoting in the house for an organized, streamlined look.
Back in 2011, Draper Builds Founders Erin and Bryan were ADU pioneers! They took the corner lot of their home in the Brooklyn neighborhood of inner SE Portland and built a garage with a 450 sq foot studio apartment on top. They did all of the work themselves on evenings and weekends focused on the goal of having a rental income property. Today, the ADU provides a steady stream of rental income, allowing Erin and Bryan more financial freedom.
In this NE Portland whole home overhaul, Draper Builds gutted the home and started fresh with new flooring, walls, and windows throughout. Updates were consistent with the period of the house and reflected the homeowner’s eclectic and minimalist style.
